![]() | Goats’ milk proves to be a lifesaver for thoroughbred foal Ollie | ![]() |

We breed thoroughbred horses and recently had a mare die ten hours after giving birth to a foal we named Ollie. Ollie was given formula milk but it didn’t agree with him and he deteriorated quickly. In desperation we thought about trying him on goats’ milk, we had nothing to loose as he was close to death’s door.
We’re pleased to say he is now thriving at 7 weeks old and drinking 15 litres of goats’ milk a day! He gets really excited when we go into his stable with a carton of goats’ milk. The treads on the carton spout mean we can screw the teat on and he drinks it straight from the bottle – he won’t have it any other way! Goats’ milk truly has been a lifesaver for us!
